Ive been moving house this last month and haven’t had this newsletter as the top of my priority list, sorry about that. So much is going on right now… and still so much to do!
Major events:
We have a new website! its published, but has more in development. Right now, keep on top of events and stuff going on The Engine, with a calendar of stuff going on at the Taphouse and in the community around the joint. Can see what’s on tap right now, and (Real-time) whether we are open…
Le Cabaret in Titahi Bay is back on Thursday, with a great lineup of musicians and poets. Our new MC will be Mathieu Connor - who you may have seen performing as part of The Other Hands. If I had a picture of him i’d put it here.

This Saturday:
Rainbow and Allies Afternoon Dance Party! We have 3 banging DJs ( the image is slightly wrong, its DJs LTM, Sassypants and Premature Midnite), special drinks and rainbow pizzas, giveaways and spot prizes. This one is a ticketed private event taking over the whole bar from 4-8 on Saturday evening… and is a safe space for Queer folks and Allies. If that isn’t you, you might have to find something else to do. If that IS you, grab a free ticket here:
We just did the Photos for our Visa Wellington on a Plate event….
Hunka hunka Chapel o burnin’ Love - If you’ve ever wanted to get married in a Vegas style drive through Elvis Wedding chapel, we have the event for you! Packages for Elvis Fun weddings, Vow Renewals, or properly legal marriages conducted by Elvis!. It’ll be on August 8th (or 16th as a rain day), There’ll be a ride in a pink Cadillac, a wedding breakfast, cocktails, photos and be super fun. Cant give you a ticket link yet, but should go live on the VWOAP site next week… so can then. Think about it, cos I reckon you should stay away from the states this next couple of years.
When you come out of the wedding chapel, there’ll be ElvisPalooza out in the Titahi bay Shopping centre central park! Elvis performers, Karaoke, Lipsyncing, and Elvis competition, all day just for fun, this be a free event, free to watch and free to enter -we will get some great prizes and should be fun as fun - and some thing we can use the central park for. Keep an eye out for this too.
